ceiling fan connections which wire goes where?
THe black wire is hot (live) The white wire is netural (return path) The green wire is ground (connected to metal juction box) the red wire is use in connecting three-way switch
The green wire is the ground, the white wire is the neutral, the red wire and black wire are hot (live). Either the red or black go to the ceiling fan and the other will go to the light fixture. For safety's sake turn off the power at the breaker box so all the wires will be dead. While the white is a neutral, if you are holding it and touching ground you could still receive a shock. Hope this helps.
Red on a ceiling fan is hot, and the blue is hot for the lights on it, which will be attached with the red..NOW....the wires on the light box your going to put it in...if this house is in usa, the black wire will be hot, the white wire is a nuetral, and the bare copper is the ground..the green wire on your fan will attach to the bare copper
