REDOX REACTION [oxidation & reduction involving electrons]?

can someone explain to me how a redox half equation works by setting out their answers in the following formatOXIDATION:REDUCTION:OVERALL:i understand the oxidation part, but i get a little confused in the reduction equationi also dont know what to do in the overall process where you combine them together.here is two examples to work with:reation of magnesium and chlorine gasreaction of aluminium and oxygen
