Hydrogen fuel cellsSolarWindHydroGeothermal
The whole green label is pretty ill-defined. What makes a technology green or not? Anyway I digress. Yes I support the development of HFC, solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, etc. I'm also a strong advocate of nuclear, which I don't see why it wouldn't be a green technology, it does not release CO2.
Climate change is a natural happening here on earth. I do support greener options for living. Mostly because we need a cheaper way to live, and I'd like to see the oil companies take one for the team when the market shrinks. They have quarterly PROFIT in the billions. That is profit people, what they get after everything is paid.
Everyone I know supports the idea of alternative energy sources and trying to make the environment cleaner. That doesn't mean I want the government dictating the whole thing or taxing U.S. businesses into oblivion and shipping the money overseas in order to make it happen though.
There is nothing wrong with going Green, But instead of just saying Go Green and dictating unrealistic timetables without a feasible program hurts more than it helps. Electric Cars are a great example; They create as many pollutants as a Gasoline powered one because there are still not enough Wind, Solar, Etc Power plants on grid, so by demanding more power, the need to use more fossil fuels increases. Ethanol fuels harm the environment because the amount of resources (Land, Fuel Etc) needed and raise food costs as well. Why not Subsidize the research to create long lasting, higher output Solar Panels,Wind Turbines, and Wave Generators as well as better electrical storage solutions instead?
I support the development of non polluting energy technology. I don't support abolishing the fossil fuel technology until a reliable and affordable (cheap!) alternative is firmly in place. I don't support poor people dying of heat or cold because they cannot afford energy.
