I want to do something like this for an engagement ring…
I got the nice diamond solitare to go with it. Came out perfect. Lots of jewlers make wraps of all kinds. I would check out alot of places before making a desision.
You can find other retailers with scaffolds, but beware. If you do not solder the rings together when you get married and wear themall, the rings will rub against each other as they turn and they will wear out the shank in the ring. (I used to work in a jewelry store.) If you have a design on the ring, like the one in your picture, it will be slightly marred by the soldering. If you choose not to solder, they will most likely not be able to recreate the design on your ring when you need to get the shank replaced. This means your forever wedding ring will have to be replaced at some point. The higher the karat of gold, the faster the shank will wear out (i.e. 18k gold wears out faster than 14k because there is more gold in the alloy, and gold is very soft and wears away easily.)
That engagement ring is totally cool - but only on its own, I don't like it with the other bands! What an amazing designer! Some of those rings are absolutely amazing! Really watch with specialized designs, though. If the design goes all around, you may not be able to get a ring resized in the future if needed.
You can do either/or. Some people get a set of rings - the engagement ring is worn by itself between the engagement and the wedding, and then the wedding band (that the engagement ring kind of fits into) gets put on, and they are worn together. Or you can get an engagement ring first, and then pick out a wedding band that matches. You can even get rings that don't match at all, if this is what you want - you can always wear the wedding band on the left hand, and the engagement ring on the right. It is completely up to you.
I'm sorry, I can't answer your question, but wanted to say that the ring is gorgeous! I don't care for diamonds but the design is so neat and different. Very pretty. You should take a print-out of that ring to a jeweller in your area. My brother had his fiance's ring custom-made because he could only find what he wanted to get her online. Someone should be able to create a ring like that for you.
