Scientific name of sweet lime?
What I do is to try to find limes that are somewhat shiny (indicating the presence of oils in the peel hopefully decent moisture content in the form of juice). Try to avoid any that feel/appear dried out with leathery peel...that means they are old and have lost moisture. I also always try to buy a few extras in case a few aren't up to par. Sometimes they sell about 10 of them in little bags as a bulk item. They are usually a little cheaper.
Oooh I hate when that happens. I have no idea how to tell how juicy they are on the inside, but I do know that if you put it in the microwave for about ten seconds then roll it back and forth on the counter for about 30 seconds, it releases the juices so if that ever happens again it won't be completely dry
