This may be a dumb question, but do Winchester white box JHP's deposit copper? I'm thinking of buying a powder fouling cleaner like Hoppe's 9, and also a separate copper remover solution. Is it necessary if i'm mainly firing WWB JHP's (USA9JHP2)?Link to product:
Hoppes #9 is probably all you will need with a 9mm pistol. You are only going to get maybe 1200 fps with a 9mm in the first place, most fouling comes from much higher Velocity unless you are shooting pure lead bullets. I can push hard cast lead bullets in my 45/70 about 1700 fps before heavy fouling becomes a problem, copper is far more forgiving, besides I would guess that the jackets are guilding metal rather than pure copper. If so they can be pushed at 3000 fps without heavy fouling.
Well yes copper is deposited in the rifling on firing,
