some airlines in specific say plane mode isn't adequateA telephone could be OFFyou could’t turn it on in the time of a flight in any respect to place or take calls, besidesin case you could’t turn off your telephone, leave it abodethere is not any way you could assure your battery will drain, except you will get rid of it - yet which could injury some telephones
They supposedly can interfere with on-board communications (avionics) However, the FCC is looking to possibly rescind this ban, what with new technologies that can prevent that interferenceAirlines are now concerned about air rage that could be caused by people yakking non-stop in an enclosed environment.
Cell phones interfere with communication equipment on a planeIn other words, the use of a cell phone could cause a pilot to miss a vital warning from Air Traffic Control because of interference from cell phone frequenciesThat aside, cell phones don't work above 10,000 feet so it's not like you're going to be able to text anywaySend a text telling your friends you're about to take off and then just turn the phone off until you get to your destination.
Its amazing that people still believe that the signals from a cell phone interfere with the aircraft's instruments!!!!! A) different frequency than aircraft radios B) different modulation than aircraft radios C) low power usually about 3 watts max D) cell phone antennas are pointed at the horizon NOT up in the air E) at cruse altitude (30,000 ish feet) the line of sight from the cell tower antenna to the plane is several hundred miles F) when the aircraft is low enough to the ground to receive the signals (about 10,000 feet) you might as well wait until the plane is at the gateG) radar and ground based radios have more power than a cell phone and would override any signal H) if I have to sit beside a Kenny Tarmac character yapping on his phone for the whole flight he is going to need the paramedics to remove the phone from where his Granny won't see itI) and most importantly it is against the rules
