Here is a non-biased opinionApple makes extremely expensive computers and they constantly come out with new products forcing you to spend even more moneyNot to mention the only company that you can put the MAC OS on is an Apple computer, where if you want to use windows you can use any type of laptop from any manufacturerIn all honesty it comes down to whether using the MAC OS is worth spending an extra $300-1200 to you or notIf you go with a non apple laptop you have so many choices and you can pick any company or services that you wishYou can buy a nice laptop now a days with Windows XP or Vista on it from DELL or some other company from $500 - 800 where a decent mac laptop will run you anywhere from $999 - 2500.(not kidding)
