Question:

Should I buy this cold air intake?

I've been looking around for a cold air intake and I came apon one that kinda puZzled me ok it's a cold air intake but the parts aren't the same it claims to be a KN cold air intake but only the actual filter is KN the pipe leading to the intake is some quot;fine polished heat resistant aluminum tubequot; does it madder performance wise? should it still work basically the same? What do u guys think? is it worth the buy? this one is about $250 cheaper then the one directly from the KN site

Answer:

You will be better off sticking to aluminum tabs to match the tubingIt will be hard enough welding to the tube without mixing metalsYou can buy aluminum sheets at Home Depot or Lowes in the hardware section, then cut out the shape you desire.
you could check mcmaster carrthey might have something like what you are looking fori assume there small aluminum tubes you might just check a small local fab shop they might have some or make you some cheep-work as a sheetmetal engineer
It won't make any difference at all in performance because none of them will do anything UNLESS you drive with you pedal to the floor all the timeOh, and you will end up using more fuelSave your money and realize, CAIs were a help to carburated cars, they do nothing but cause trouble on FI cars.
