I know they may be unreliable but they are cheaper and I have a tight budget which would help a lot. I am planning on building a Phenom rig and I have it all planned out.
Dont Listen To The Intel Fanboy.... Bulldozer espically the 8 core was designed for more server applications..... Get the 4 core 4120 i believe its cheap at 140$ and is clocked stock at 4.2 ghz
The i5-2500k is fairly close in price and is magnitudes better, don't go with bulldozer.
Personally I wouldn't go with bulldozer... and I haven't. If your budget stretches, get the Phenom II X4 960T... what bulldozer were you looking at ? model? that way we can get better alternatives :)
