Question:

should i upgrade my cpu to AMD 8-core 3.6GHz Bulldozer CPU?

does it run better after the hotfix? is there anything bad about this cpu? its got to be fast with 8 cores

Answer:

here' my advise, 1. the motherboard must be am3+ 2. if your not a gamer or anyone that needs that kind of power it's not something you need 3. if you only have an3 phenom works just fine other than that i already know that proccesor will kick some ***
3.6Ghz sounds fast as hell. i went from a 1Ghz to a 2.6Ghz and i feel like im going supersonic. i cant imagine 3.6Ghz.
First make sure you have a AM3+ board!!!! You can not upgrade with out this. The FX series uses the new chip sets. I do not own this im just repeating all i a have read and seen in bench marks. Couple things to consider 1, They overclock very well people are able to hit 4.0ghz no problems!!!! And higher on stock air,. 2. Why not i mean if you can 8 cores is better then 4 if you super multitask. Also note this with the Ati 6990 for BF3 which is a video card the FX series bear the I7 by a couple FPS. To be honest as of right now there are not many programs that need 8 cores or even 4 But if i had the money you bet i would get it!!!!! Just to say i had this beast of a chip!!!!
Well friend, having many cores doesn't make a processor faster, it only makes it more efficient for multi tasking (doing several things at the same time). If you wanted an efficient and fast processor especially for gaming, then definitely just get the i5-2500K, this is the best CPU for gaming today and it can be easily overclocked to 4 ghz and also based on reviews and comments that I have heard, the bulldozer series is not as good as it seems, AMD actually produced multi core processors with high frequency to keep up with intel, but sad to say that in the end, the sandy bridge just whips AMD's *** by a quarter mile, I am not an intel fan but the the fact that Intel is way ahead of the processor race is true. I am hoping this year that AMD would come up with a good processor to match Intel's upcoming Ivy bridge.
