I building a new rig, I'm not sure how good Bulldozer is going to be compared to Sandy Bridge. I will be using my system for gaming. Or should I even wait for Intel Ivy Bridge? My budget for the entire rig is around 1000 dollars, monitor not included. Also do you think a Radeon HD 6870 is more than aqueduct for gaming?
I am seeing recommendations (in other answers) to go for 2500. There is always going to be a better one coming out. Buy it when you want it.
Go for an i5, its as good as any Quad Core CPU's if not better. AMD is totally unpredictable as to how the Bulldozer will perform so its not wise to wait for it. Lastly, the Radeon HD 6870 is a very good GPU, efficient fast. Go for it.
intel processors are costly so u can buy penom II with intel i5 price that cant differ any more with intel
