My goal is to get a freedom arms model 83 .454, but i want a lighter caliber first, so i'm looking for a single action .44 special with a safety feature that allows me to carry it safely with 6 rounds in the cylinderI saw the ruger blackhawk, but it is made of some kind of alluminum alloy and i don't trust aluminum on a gun, it seems too weakI don't know much these, but i want it to be American made.
Black Hawks used to be offered with an alloy grip frame, not anymoreIt in no way affected the strength of the gun, it was only the grip frameAll Ruger revolvers since 1973 have transfer bar safeties that make it safe to carry with six rounds Freedom Arms do not have this feature and they were sued a few years ago because this flaw in the design was deemed responsible in part for blowing a man's leg off But get the Super Blackhawk in .44 magIt is built tough enough that it has it's own reload table and will take pressures that will blow other guns apart.
