I'm thinking of getting an industrial/scaffold piercing soon, but I'm worried that I might sleep on it and mess it up. I'm a deep sleeper and move around a lot in my sleep without realising it myself, so I'm rather worried that I might irritate the piercing by accident. Would it be better if I request the piercer to put in like, 2 separate earrings for me instead of one barbell? Thanks in advance!
Try having the bar first so that your holes are lined up properly. If you do wind up irritating the piercing in your sleep, you can always switch it to two pieces of jewelry for the rest of healing. Most people tend to favor sleeping on one side of their head even if they are deep sleepers. If you know which side you favor, get pierced in the opposite ear to minimize the chances of bumping it.
I just got an indistrial piercing a week and a half ago. If you end up rolling over onto the peircing in your sleep you'll know right away because it hurts. A lot. It seems like I was waking up every hour for the first couple of days. It would probably be better to get it on the opposite ear than the side you sleep on.
