Question:

stain on my leather sofa?

i just bought a leather sofa, and there is a stain on it right underneath where my dog lays(he lays on a blanket on the couch)its a circle about 2 inches in diameter.i dont know what it is ,but im assuming its a bodily fluid or saliva.does anyone know how to get it out?

Answer:

Try Armor-All - the stuff for cars :)
Folex is the right thing for you. Works on most fabrics.
Even if you have a blanket on your sofa the dogs sweat and body oils will get through to the leather. These are very acidic and will have penetrated the leather finish causing the stain. There is little chance of you being able to remove this stain yourself as the body oils/saliva etc. have penetrated the finish on the leather. Please DO NOT use Saddle Soap Auto care products Magic Erasers Household cleaners as these will all have the potential to damage the leather further and are very unlikely to resolve the problem. Have you used a leather protector on your leather? This is crucail these days on modern leather finishes and will really help to combat such problems. To fix the current problem I would find a leather cleaning specialist who will have the correct products to deal with this problem and will then be able to apply a good quality protector to your leather and show you how to look after it correctly from now on. Try to find an LTT trained technician as these are the best in the world and their products have been extensively tested.
