Question:

Strange noises coming from computer speakers?

Ever since I got my new computer, my speakers have been making noises that are fairly terrifying. I can only describe them as the sound you would get by beating a microphone with a wet towel, though maybe not as loud or dramatic. And occasionally I here beeps and boops like something out of a sci-fi movie. If you say this out loud you would be pretty close -- Boukkkkwakkkkkkkk beep beep beep boukkkkkkkk. Each episode of sound lasts a good 10 seconds then stops. Other than that my speakers have been working fine. I really only became worried when the beeps and boops started happenning. They make me think I'm being stalked by aliens or something. Any idea what these noises might be? Should I be worried? Should I run? Should I start wearing tin-foil hats? Anything?
