Question:

Taurus 845 .45acp pistol vs Aluminum cased ammunition.?

Practice with this weapon putting 200 rounds down range so far with a variety of bullets and it functioned perfectlyThat was a while back and now that I decided to start carrying it again I started practicing the drop, rack, insert, rack process for a stove pipe or jamThat's when I noticed the Aluminum hollow point ammo wasn't ejecting right at all.I did shoot some aluminum cased bullets before in break in, but I can't remember if it was the same stuff I wanted to carry nowI though I had shot at least a magazine of all the different ammo I had but that was months ago and I could be mistaken.Put in brass ammo with both hollow points and FMJ's running 8 magazines through it racking the slide back hardNot one failure to feed or eject. Is this because I'm only ejecting the ammo and not shooting it? Would that matter, the Brass cased ammo is identical bullet grain and the hollow point shape is nearly identical.

Answer:

aliminium foil does work but not as good as an insulated bag
If you wrap foil on a plate with food on it, it will trap heat and keep the food warm for a little longer than it would by itself.
Yes, but not for longAn insulated bag will keep it warm for longer.
Well, Aluminium foil is not a very good insulator as it has relatively high heat transfer and storage capacityHaving said that though it would act like a lid keeping air from the outside out so keeping the food warm for longer than it would without alu-foilBut if you really wanted to keep your food warm for a long period of time you would need a suitably insulated container or a heating platedepends on how long you want to keep it warm though, if it is only a short period of time then a good thing to do is to warm up the plate and serve the food on a warm plate + cover itthat will add a few minutesNot much, but hey .
Do you really care if it aluminum cases and brass cases manually eject differently? I dontWhat does bother me - you have this hodge podge of different ammo being fired - and you have not fired enough of what you plan to carry in the pistol for personal protection You should go buy 6-8 boxes of 'one type of ammo - same make, model, bullet weight and lot number' - go fire 2-3 boxes to verify they all play well with your pistol and mags - then stash the rest asideThis is your personal, private, concealed carry ammo stashIf you gun gets wet or the mags dirty - the ammo goes into a plastic bag for practice and you insert new ammoAfter carrying the ammo for 6 months - into the bag it goes and out comes new ammo'In Theory' - this should give you nearly 10 years of nice ammo for concealed carry you never have to worry about sighting in your pistol or if it will function correctly Cheapo alumimum Blazer - not my idea of concealed carry ammo.
