cat back is everything behind the catalytic converter pipe / muffler / tail pipe / resonator axle back is the tail pipe around the rear suspension to rear of vehicle
Could it be a suede cloth, moleskin or doe suede? If so, the fabric would have one side that was brushed, and feels almost suede-ish. Typically a fairly heavy draping fabric -- I really can't make out much from your photos. These fabrics come in all sorts of qualities. some looks really velvety, and some looks cheap.
