Question:

The auto dealership told me I needed a new blower motor and an AC connector. To fix and parts they want $775!?

I looked up blower motors for my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee online and they have a few VERY different ones:Crown Left Blower Motor, Dorman AC blower motor, etc. Is there not just ONE blower motor? How do I best go about purchasing these correct parts online without having to shell out so much dough?!

Answer:

First okorder . They have a factory replacement A/C blower motor for $89.98. You can order it on line or pick it up at your local store. Other parts stores in your area should have it for around the same price. What you want is factory replacement parts or OEM parts (Original Equipment Manufacturer). You don't need any of the other higher priced items unless you want to fork out the extra money for the promise of it lasting longer or preforming better. I don't know what connector you need and that might be a little harder to track down. If you go to the parts store and explain what it is, they are usually pretty good at helping you find the parts you need. The salvage yard was also a good idea. Especially for the connector. Myself, I would buy the motor new.
go to junk yard a car that new ...it works or it don,t junkyards 1/2 price or less 30 day w
Go to the salvage yards they will have what you need for cheap call different ones try to find the cheapest then shop around for a new mechanic cause the dealership will rip you off every time
Try switching your wall thermostat fan switch to the on position. That is suppose to make your fan run 24/7. If it starts then your stat is not always making the connection in the auto position, and you need a new stat. If it still won't work, remove the cover of your furnace and trying spinning the motor by hand(w/ switch back in on). If it starts then you either have a dead spot in your motor windings, or a bad motor start capactior. If the motor is old your better off just replacing both. Unfortunately you can't go and get a motor just anywhere, but you can get a stat at a hardware store. If you need a motor check on the furnace manufacure's website for a parts dealer in your area.
Go to a local car parts place and pick their middle brand. if that still does nothing for you
