Question:

The electric water heater often forgets to shut, can there be an accident?

My house is a duplex, Vanward electric water heater installed on the first floor, bath room on the two floor, often in the upstairs bath after the busy closing, until the second day when bathing to open the switch, just know before, I want to know, long time didn't turn off the water heater electric water heater / water system. Will it happen? Such as liner burn out and so on.

Answer:

As long as the electric water heater itself is no fault, that is, forget to shut down, there will be no accident. However, there are still some drawbacks in the long term, and regular meetings will increase power consumption and shorten the service life of electric water heaters.
For (2) cases, the electric water heater has 3 protection measures:A, temperature control switch - to control the temperature of the switch, that is, when the water temperature rises to the set temperature, automatically cut off the heater power, stop heating. Usually the temperature of the temperature switch is set at about 75 degrees Celsius to ensure the normal pressure in the electric water heater.B, a temperature limiting switch once temperature control switch failure, in the temperature rise to limit temperature (usually 97 degrees Celsius), a temperature limiting switch will automatically cut off the power supply of the electric water heater, and will not automatically reset, ensure that the pressure inside the electric water heater does not exceed the specified value.C, safety relief valve - once the pressure in the electric water heater exceeds the specified value, the safety relief valve will automatically push off and release hot water to reduce the pressure in the electric water heater, and ensure that the electric water heater will not explode due to over pressure.
Electric water heater accident, there are only 2 kinds of circumstances:(1) leakage causes the user to get an electric shock;(2) the explosion of electric water heater due to high pressure. In the case of (1), the electric water heater usually has the "anti electric wall" measures, that is, once the leakage occurs, it will automatically cut off the power supply.
