Question:

The more speakers I have the louder?

I have 10 speakers that all have the same wattage output and I turn them all at the same volume level. If I add 10 more (now I would have 20 speakers) of the same wattage on top of each speaker, does that make it louder? Or does the placement of the speakers make it seem louder? There are no speakers behind me either. Its all in front. No subwoofers.Know this, I already know the answer, I just need a seriously in depth answer as to why.

Answer:

Placement does indeed make it louder. Your ear can hear from almost every direction, not just the one it is facing. Having a speaker closer to you makes it louder as 1. The Sound waves are closer together since they don't travel as far and 2. It's going right in your ear So adding more speakers causes more sound waves to reach your ear, and as long as you don't just put them in the exact same position as where the others are, it will be louder.
If all the speakers are connected to one amplifier, adding speakers does not make it louder because the power will be divided between the speakers evenly. If the added speakers are connected to their own amp, then the system would be louder. This question is like opening a can of worms because there are so many unknowns. In general: more speakers WITH more amplification louder more speakers WITHOUT additional amplification same volume
