It depends on what you are looking for in a craft storeJoann's is geared much more toward sewing type crafts, so they have tons of fabric, sewing notions etcMicheals just has more stuffI like to go to Micheals to look around, but I find more of what I need at JoannsCost wise they are about the sameI have never taken classes at either one so I can't really comment about that.
Michael's doesn't have a lot of fabric, but they have more selection when it comes to beading, classes and craftsMichael's can be a bit on the expensive side but they usually have a sale and or a coupon all most every weekThe one bad thing I would say about Michael's is it's a big box storeSome times their associates can be rough to find on a busy day and not all of them have knowledge on every craft in the storeYou would have to visit both and find out which one you like better.
