The role of chromium in nodular cast iron
Chromium has better strengthening and toughening effect in nodular cast iron. Chromium containing cast iron has the characteristics of high strength, high elongation, high impact value and low hardness.
In the bending fatigue test of crankshaft, it is also found that the chromium containing cast nodular iron crankshaft has the characteristics of large ultimate bending moment, high safety factor, overload duration, high strength and small deformation.
In order to further understand the mechanism of chromium in ductile iron, the application of electronic scanning and other test means, from chrome crystal structure, crystallization, solidification, heat treatment transformation principle, further study on the mechanism of chromium in ductile iron.
