Question:

Truth or legend that the island of Es Vedra, emits a magnetic field that is crazy compasses?

It ‘a Balearic island about 2 km southwest of Ibiza, is also said that seagulls fly over the disoriented because of the magnetic fields generated by its metal-rich rocks.Si dice che sia il terzo posto più magnetico del pianeta!?Sorry for my English, sono straniero.

Answer:

if it is anywhere near the equator compasses might have a hard time
moter itself seldom the problem.its the other parts,,there is a metal bar connecting the 2 wipers to the transmision [not that transmision] could be bushing [p;astic] or any of parts.50 dollars to 100 my wag
may have broken the motor or may have busted the couplerwhich is a piece of plastic designed to break to keep other stuff from breaking.either way the labor should b about an hour or so + the cost of the parts not that hard to do ureself but aggravating.
Entertaining myth, period. Es Vedra is one of the Balearic islands, composed almost exclusively of simple limestone. There is no magnetic material or even material that can be influenced by an external magnetic field. The Earth's field is well aligned and strong at that location. Nothing gets disoriented. There aren't even any confusing volcanic gases (as it is completely non-volcanic) that someone might argue would cause problems. So again, *no* metal-rich rocks. In fact, almost no metals at all. Really more of a tourist legend.
