I have a 2001 Ford Escort ZX2. My girlfriend lost the original set of keys including the key fob to this car and the burglar alarm has been set. How can I turn it off without damaging the car? Disconnecting the battery does not work.

You will need to prepare the soil by tilling it and they tilling in some additives - such as peat moss. YOu will want to start you r compost pile near the garden to develop compost to use as a soil addition for later.
Yes you can just throw them in the garden if you want to but you would have better results if you composted them first. My mom often just threw them into the garden so I know it won't hurt anything. If the area you want to use currently has grass remove it first and use the sod elsewhere if you can. Then till up the area and add a composted material like manure. If you are going to use chemical fertilizers add them before tilling. This will help make sure you don't burn any young plants in a pocket of fertilizer. Happy Gardening.
By now I'm sure you've solved the problem but just in caseunder the drivers side of the dash should be the brain box of the alarm. You can simply unplug it's harness.
