Unfortinatly i already have the tile but i was hoping i could use self leveling cement then atattch the tile to it. is this even a posabilityor should i use hardyback board and if i do how can i atattch it to the cement
I used the self leveling concrete mixture and sure enough, it worked great. Just make sure you do your prep work to ensure excellent results.
just use the self leveler, let it set and install the tile right on to the floor, no hardybacker needed....( use the right mastic ) lic. gen. contractor
you can probrably use a self leveling floor prep if the floor is not too bad but that stuff is quite expensive if you need a lot of it. make sure you read the instructions and follow them.
do not use anything from lowes or home depot. what you need is a self leveling underlayment. go to a concrete supply house or contractors supply store. I recommend United Products self leveling underlayment or Dayton Superior's Levelayer I. Mix it and pour it. that's it. wait a day or 2 and you can lay your tile.
At Home Depot they have a liquid floor evening stuff. It is is the aisle with the tile and floor care. ask somebody they will know exactly what it is. trust me
