Seems like every time I bake chicken breast, it winds up coming out in an inch or so of juice and almost all the flavor is gone from what I marinated it withMight as well just boil the chicken and I'd have the same thingHow can I stop this from happening? Is there any way to do it without raising it off the bottom of the pan, like with a baking rack or vegetables?
This Site Might Help YouRE: Which of the following lose or gain electrons? aPotassium b Calcium cNitrogen dFluorine eAluminum fOxygen And what is the number of electrons gained or lost and the ion formed?
Pretty much what the other posters have saidHowever, the other poster was wrong in that aluminum does not gain 5 electronsIt is special because, even though it is on the right side of the periodic table, it loses three electrons in order to reach a full octet.
The thing to remember is that ALL elements want to become like Noble Gases because those are the most stableTherefore they must either gain or lose electrons to become like a Noble GasFor the most part, it's common sense, if the element is towards the left of the periodic table and far away from the Noble Gas in its row, then it will lose electrons to become like the Noble Gas at the end of the row above itIf the Element is towards the right of the periodic table and close to the Noble Gas in it's row then it will gain electrons to become like the Noble GasCount the number of elements/ spaces between the element and the Noble gasThis will be the number of electrons you will gain or loseapotassium: -1 b.calcium: -2 cnitrogen: +3 dflourine: +1 ealuminum: +5 fOxygen:+2
You are on the right trackPlace some vegetables in the bottom of the panCarrots, celery and onionsLay the chicken on the veggies and bakeYou can discard the vegetables or press them and the juices through a strainer and use the liquid as part of the gravyIf the vegetables are still somewhat crisp you could eat them but they will have absorbed a fair bit of fat from the chicken skin drippingsYou could also use crumpled up aluminum foil as a rackYou can also use a cooling rack if it will raise the chicken up enough.
