how do i remove it and replace it
There should be 2 to 3 bolts holding it to the engine and/or engine bracketsIt's a large round aluminum object that has a pulley in the front of it and has many slits/openings cast into it to cool it offYou need a relatively flat and long pry bar to take tension off the idler/tensioner pulley and then you slip the belt off of the alternator pulleyIt will have 1 or 2 electrical plugs that go into itSince it sounds like you've never done this before I'd have someone who knows what they are doing do it for youThat's why mechanics existNot everyone has the ability to wrench on a carThough it's not rocket science you do need to be VERY knowledgeable in order to do most things on a carMany people just don't get it and never doUnless you grew up around cars or mechanics you should at least buy a Chilton or Haynes repair manual at you local auto parts store.
