Question:

What adhesive adhesive does Teflon use?

What adhesive adhesive does Teflon use?

Answer:

PTFE is difficult to stick, mainly for the following reasons: first, low surface energy, critical surface tension is only 31 ~ 34 dyne / cm. Due to the low surface energy, contact angle, adhesive can not fully wetting PTFE, thereby not good adhesion on PTFE; second, high crystallinity, good chemical stability, swelling and dissolution of PTFE are non crystalline polymer adhesive coated on the surface of PTFE when the difficulties, it is difficult to occur in polymer molecular chain chain domain and mutual diffusion entanglement, can not form a strong adhesion; third, highly symmetric PTFE structure, but also belongs to non polar polymer. The adhesive force on the PTFE surface is caused by Fan Dehua force (intermolecular force), and the van Edward force includes orientation force, induction force and dispersion force. For non-polar polymer materials, the surfaces do not have the conditions of forming orientation force and inducing force, but they can only form weaker dispersive force, so their adhesion is poor.
Treatment method:Chemical treatment of sodium naphthalene complexHigh temperature melting methodRadiation graftingLow temperature plasma technologyLaser treatment (belongs to the method of increasing material, the material is modified first, then the micro laser is activated and chemically plated copper)
Based on the above understanding, in general, in order to solve the problem of difficult bonding of PTFE, people mainly start with the synthesis of surface modification and new adhesive.
