Cans, bottles, magazines, newspapers, term papers, letters, envelopes- ANYTHING that is paper, throw it in your paper recycling box As for the other recycling stuff- look for the recycling symbol (usually on the bottom), it looks like a triangle of arrows with a number in the middleRecycle all of that stuff tooEven those little bottles you get your tylenol out of, you can recycleSometimes, you can recycle those plastic cups and lids that your fountain drinks come in, at concenience stores and fast food placesAlways look for the recycling symbol, and if its on there, rinse it out (to be polite) and throw it into the recycling binYou dont even have to rinse the stuff, and if youre concerned about water conservation, just dont bother rinsing any of it You can also recycle batteries- but you have to take those to a certain place, to do itJust keep a shoebox and when it is full of dead batteries, call your city recycling office, and ask them where you can take it and drop it off(its usually free) Batteries are important, because they have very dangerous chemicals in them that harm the environment worse than any old plastic bottle would Also, you want to take old paint, and used oil cans to special places, as wellYour city or township will be able to answer those questions for you- call whatever office handles your regular curbside recycling, or try your utilities department.
