Question:

What are Limes?

can anybody tell me something about the setting, properties, slaking and manufacturing of limes??

Answer:

Throw them out
Use them in smoothies, or juice them and freeze the juice in ice cube trays to use in cooking. EDIT: Hard like rocks? They aren't overripe, they're dehydrated, from being in the fridge too long. I don't know where you live, but citrus fruits need a semi tropical climate to grow, even if they do take root (which I doubt).
Make Key Lime Pie.
ARGH!!!!!!!!! Never, ever, ever, ever put citrus in your refrigerator! But, you've probably figured that out by now :) Sometimes you can revive dried out citrus by soaking the fruits in warm water for a few hours. Cut them, scoop out the insides, and freeze for later use. However, if they've gotten too mealy, just toss, and don't toss them in the compost as worms don't like citrus. I toss a lot of things into the woods....every spring I have free-range plants - tomatoes, beans, squash. However, probably not the limes -- most limes are hybrid and don't often produce viable seeds, and if the seeds are viable, probably nothing like the parent. Limes like warm, moist conditions. and unless you are in zone 8 or better, the odds of anything actually growing are slim. I tend overbuy citrus like lemons and limes and I often have to cut-and-scoop as they start to wane. Boy, they do come in handy when I need that juice of one lemon in a recipe and I'm not in the mood to trudge through four feet of snow to the market.
