First, do your research. Before I do my brackets, I spend at least 2 hours a day doing VERY detailed research and watching films on most of the teams. For example, say if match up was Georgetown v.s Oklahoma. Research how good Oklahoma was against Big East conferences and what kind of offense do they run and guess if they can capitalize it on lately struggling Georgetown defense. Second, always know just because team has higher seed, does not mean they will go all the way to final four on that specific reigion. That was not certainly the case last year (Davidson, Western Kenturkey, KSU, etc.) And lastly, compare your brackets with experts. I always look at other analyst's brackets such as Bob Knight, Digger Phelps, Jay Bilas, or Dicky V and listen to their presentation of their own brackets.
