WOW! Now THAT is some serious research.
Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die. The king and his men stole the queen from her bed and bound her in her Bones. The seas be ours and by the powers where we will we'll roam. Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never say we die. Some men have died and some are alive and others sail on the sea – with the keys to the cage... and the Devil to pay we lay to Fiddler's Green! The bell has been raised from it's watery grave... Do you hear it's sepulchral tone? We are a call to all, pay head the squall and turn your sail toward home! Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never say we die.
These are the extended lyrics. Only the first verse and chorus are on the soundtrack. The version I'm posting has the corrected lyrics. The ones I've changed are noted with an *. The king and his men stole the queen from her bed *and bound her in her bower. The seas be ours *invites the powers where we will we'll roam. Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, *never shall we die. Some men have died and some are alive and others sail on the sea – with the keys to the cage... and the Devil to pay we lay to Fiddler's Green! The bell has been raised *from its watery grave... Do you hear it's sepulchral tone? We are a call to all, *pay heed the squall and turn your sail toward home! Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, *never shall we die. I'm guessing it's pay _heed_ to the squall, since pay head doesn't make any sense, even for a pirate song. Or, it's pray, head the squall, but that doesn't seem to make sense either. The first verse is definitely and bound her in her _bower_. If you doubt it, listen to the song itself. There's a vast difference between bones and bower. Also, bower: a lady's boudoir in a medieval castle, which would also make it fit the song. Invites the powers sounds more accurate, though I'm still not sure. But for certain the boy sings something with an s at the end of it, so it can't be by the powers. The last line of the chorus is really never shall we die. You can clearly hear the men singing it.
