What are the similarities between the structure and the chemical composition of polymer resins?
Epoxy resins refer to organic compounds containing two or more epoxy groups in the molecule. Except for some of them, the relative molecular weight of them is not high enough. (two). The molecular structure of epoxy resin is characterized by the presence of active epoxy groups in the molecular chain. The epoxy group can be located at the end of the molecular chain, intermediate or ring like structure. Because the molecular structure contains active epoxy groups, they can react with various types of curing agents to form insoluble and non melting polymers with three directions network structure.
Epoxy resin is a kind of high polymer resin. According to the different structure of the polymer, the polymer resin can be divided into epoxy resin, phenolic resin, acrylic resin, unsaturated polyester resin, ion exchange resin, amino resin, silicone resin, polyamide resin, urea formaldehyde resin, polyurethane resin, furan resin and other synthetic resin etc..
Resin usually refers to softening or melting range after heating. When softening, it tends to flow under external force. At normal temperature, it is solid, semi solid, and sometimes liquid organic polymer.
