what are three reasons for using fillers or additives ?
I guess if someone converted the car from front to all wheel drive this could be possible. I have yet to see that yet, at least one person here knew that. So assuming it was made into an all wheel drive, if it's clicking replace the axle, if it's not then replace the boot.
I would certainly consider replacing the complete axle. Simply because of balance. Most import cars have the axles and CV joints balanced as an assembly. This assures you that both the inboard and outboard CVs are new and balanced together. Let's not forget you would probably get a better warranty on a complete axle assembly. Your diagnosis seems correct. If you are getting a clicking when turning a corner, you are probably dealing with a failed CV joint.
1. The amount of active ingredient is so small it would be hard to package. 2. The additive could increase the rate of adsorption. 3. the additive could slow down the release of the active ingredient. 4. the additive could alter the properties such as viscosity.
Bad news.if the joint is clicking around corners, the shaft will likely need replacing. If you had noticed the bad boot before any noise happened, I'd say swap the boot, grease it up and throw it back in. Cv joints can go a while without the boot and grease but once the noise comes, they are hash. Price, prolly 60-120.00 depending on where u go.
