Answer:

Trek 1400 Aluminum Road Bike
Maybe $200, if nothing is wornDowntube shifters mean the bike is at least 15 years oldWhile still a good bike, depreciation kicks in the second the bike rolls out of the storeAfter STI/Ergo became the norm the price of down tube shifter bikes dropped dramaticallyUpdating a down tube shifter bike with STI/Ergo is not cost effective.
This Site Might Help YouRE: What is the value of a Trek 1400 aluminum frame roadbike in good condition? Good rubber, shifters on downtube, good gel seat and handlebar tapeThis bike was ridden by a bike shop owner in Wisconsin and was rarely used by meIn very, good condition.
Depending on the age, condition and such, it could be a good bike for getting started without spending a lot of $$I think Trek started offering the aluminum 1400 around 1989The older ones will have a six- or seven-speed cog on the back and downtube shifters - nothing wrong with that if you don't mind not having the latest equipmentIf it's just been sitting in a garage you might need to replace the tubes and tires, but a good cleaning, lube, re-pack bearings, etcand it probably will work fineAs for the value, it depends on the condition, but certainly not much more than $100, $200 at the very top if it's really goodFor perspective, I had a Trek 1000 that I bought new in 1989 or 1990I believe it had the same frame as the 1400 at the time, but with lower-level componentsI rode the bike a lot, but maintained it and kept it in good conditionSold it 1999 for $300If I still had it today, even if it had sat in the garage for the past 10 years, I wouldn't expect to get more than $100 for itSo anyway, if it is in good condition and you can get it for a good price, it might be ideal for getting startedLater, if you get into road riding you can save for a more modern bike and convert the trek into a winter bike or single speed.
using aluminum foil: lay your hair on top of the foil fold it over then start folding the foil as if it was a fanit doesn't really curl your hair it gives it more of a crimped effectyou can curl your hair with tins, plastis bottles, corks, pens anything that is round.
