Question:

What business might dye a womans cloth raincoat?

What fabric-dyeing service, outside of a dry cleaners, would dye my lined, polyester/rayon raincoat? I have a spring raincoat (new) that has a pleat in back with pleated, ribbed design on back and shoulders of coat which makes it unique. I do not want to dye black, but would like a pastel color. If it turned out to be a mint green color (from using a white dye) that would be better than the ugly green color it currently is. I purchased on sale because of the unique design; my choice of color was not available in my size. To my surprise, dry cleaning companies I called do not do provide that service and I do not want to dye myself. Can a darker green shade be dyed to a pastel color? Any information provided would be helpful. Thanks.

Probably can't be done. Polyester can't be bleached, and the water repellent treatment makes it impossible for dye to stick. Pass it on to someone else or learn to love it.
