Question:

What can I do to improve my FM reception on a desk top radio? Not going to replace it with another unit.?

Looking to improve reception from stations with weak signals. Have already moved all over the room but can‘t do that everytime i change stations. This unit doesn‘t use a metal antenna for reception. Any ‘how to‘ instruction to modify this unit for reception improvement is appreciated.

Answer:

If you want to modify the built in anntenna (small copper coils in wax wrapped around a bar, thick as a pencil about 4 inches long) MAKE SURE that u don't touch the power transformer The only way to Identify the power transformer is to follow where the power wire enters the radio. It is a oil paper or plastic wrapped coils of wires inside a metal frame. DO NOT DISTURB IT! It has high voltage that can Kill You! If you can keep away from the highvoltage touch a 31 inch wire to the small pencil wire inside the radio BE CAREFUL You donot want to touch anything else! This should help for some stations but u may want to remove your new anntenna because sometimes the radio anntenna is better!
