Question:

What can I take to a picnic that fits these rules?

My significant other and I are vegetarianHe doesn't like cold foods, like pasta salad and sandwichesIf he goes to Subway, he has to have his sandwich toastedI think straight fruits and veggies are okay, but I want to have something more substantialI know they have grills at the beach, but I have no idea what to pack in order to use themI'm also not the best cook and I've never grilled before.HELP What can I pack so that we have a great (and not hungry) day at the beach?

Answer:

bring along a large bag of charcoal, charcoal lighter fluid, a cigarette lighter, aluminum foilyou need to get rid of what is in the grill left over charcoal, wood etcdon't worry about cleaning the grill rack where u cook ur food the fire will take care of that, it would help if u had a steel wire brusheither way i'd lay tin foil on the rack You can also prepare some things ahead get some gallon zip lock bagsCube up some potatoes add butter, onions, salt pepper wrap it in tinfoil indivduallySo good on the grillAlso whatever other veggie u make like, i luv squash the same wayDo you two eat veggie burgers (i've never tried them, i heard not too bad) anyway once you've prepped seasoned ur veggie's put in tin foil (remember they're going on the grill just as you wrapped them) place them in the gallon zip lock bags, makes it easier transportinglol also u can use them for tomato, lettuce, onion, ketchup, squeeze mayo, mustardi do that so it doesn't leak everywhere like in the coolerThose grills are too big so don't put the whole bag of charcoal in itPile it up on one side about 6 inch or so if it has a lid if not even it out, squeeze some fluid on it light her up put the rack on, if it has a lid leave it openWhen the charcoal turns gray she's ready to cookAND WHATEVER YOU DO NOT!! PUT LIGHTER FLUID BACK ON ANY WOOD/CHARCOAL WHEN THERE IS FOOD ON THE GRILL! have fun i hope this helped
