I am redecorating my fathers house he has really nice big living room and have nice golden 3 pieces sofa. please help me with the paint and the carpet. plzz help thank u in advance
When okorder / The colors that work well with gold are..deep violet, navy, black, deep red, olive green, dark brown, white, cream/tan. Hope these ideas help to inspire you.
Neutral carpet is best. Try something beige or deeper if you can find it. If your father will be living there, I would suggest light colors on the walls. This is easier on the eyes. Ivory tones would be fine. If he does want color, pastel greens or blues would work.
Green. You can choose a nice wall paper that accommodates both colors. Perhaps with a floral pattern. If you use paint than a bit lighter on your walls and a deeper shade in your carpet.
I would Go with really Pretty Beige and some nice cream pillows and you should even through in some nice Gray bluish Accents. With a nice Throw Blanket and some Nice Pictures. Or you could do a nice cream colored couch or even a off white , like egg shell color , don't do white that wont look good.
Everything goes with gold--you can't really pick a color that clashes. You just have to decide on style. Carpet is the main thing--go and look for a carpet you really like and will be appropriate for the living space. (If there are kids or dogs running around it won't show stains, wear etc.) Again, ANY colour, even grays, go well with yellows and golds. I'd suggest a fairly neutral color for the carpet however, because that gives you the option of restyling the room with accessories and paint for as long as the carpet is good. Once you pick out a carpet (most expensive to replace so you have to live with it for a while), and depending on how extreme the style of the sofa pieces are--you can do anything with paint to change the environment and feel of the room. So if you whether you go for a brownish or grayish colored carpet, You have full range of blues, greens, reds, whites to choose from as paint colors. The only thing you will need to do at that point is collect paint samples and compare it to the carpet--the gold sofas shouldn't matter. You can also always choose a wall as an accent wall (I usually like to pick the largest most open wall) for a bold color and keep the rest of the room a more muted tone. Any bold color on an accent wall behind a gold sofa will be striking and beautiful. I personally would stay away from pastels if the sofa is a strong gold, but the right pastel might look good.
