Question:

what colors go with copper and black?

the sink will be a black square pedistal and the toilet will also be black- im just not sure what color to paint the upper portion of the bathroom and what color tile- whatever tile i pick will also go into the kitchen- any ideas- the kitchen will have a copper sink and black granite countertops and dark mahogany cabinets

Answer:

you're going to need a lighter color for contrast, so i would go with taupe walls in both kitchen and bath. add contrast with splashes of tera cotta, turquoise, and chocolate brown in the towels.
white or green
Sage Green perhaps?
What first comes to my mind is a rich, deep golden shade of yellow. Copper has orange undertones, so colors that go with copper are yellows, blues and greens. But what shade of those colors is the question. Not pastels, for sure. Saturated colors, like deep lime green, saffron yellow, french blue. With the dark counter tops and the dark cabinets, I would go with a color that makes the woodwork and copper tiles pop. I would not paint the bathroom and the kitchen the same color. There are so many colors to select, why paint two rooms the same color? One could have yellow undertones and the other, green. Or, select a paint for the kitchen and then the next lightest color for the bathroom. I hope my suggestions will help you make a paint color choice. You have chosen some really nice tiles and with the black counter tops and plumbing fixtures, it will be stunning. Good luck in your new home.
