I had an open bag of hershey kisses and an open bag of reese's cups hiding in a drawer of my deskI came home from school one day to find that my dog had eaten all of it, including the aluminum wrappersFor the past few days she has been pooping and throwing up with some foil here and thereFor all that candy, that seems to be a lot of foil so I'm just wondering if she'll be able to pass all of thatTonight I have noticed that she's been laying around and she won't eat her foodJust wondering what you think I should do(I've also been snowed in to my house for the past few days, but I can get to a hospital if I need to.)
Finished Attic Insulation
Insulating A Finished Attic
We installed insulation baffles between all of the rafters in our attic before it was insulated and finishedThey run from the soffit area to up above the finished walls and ceiling to the upper attic space where the roof turbine vents are If you don't have soffit vents then they can be addedThe holes for them can be cut in the soffits and cover plates put over the holesYou wil also need some type of vent on the top of the roof either at the ridge or in the form of turbine vents, gable vents or even maybe a power vent.
Yes you need styrofoam insulation baffles end to end from beyond the knee walls up to the ridge ventI would then use r19 Kraft paper roll insulationI did this in an attic bedroom but I added a 1 layer of dow blue styrofoam to the bottom of the rafters before I installed the finished drywallI would also suggest flattening out the top of the ceiling at the peak which will create a length wise flow of air across the entire top of this flat ceilingWithout soffit vents you can install a couple gable end vents up high alsoYou need some lower source of air coming into that atticMake sure the ridge vent was installed properly - you should be able to see indirect light coming through the mesh of the ridge ventSome roofers don't actually take the time to cut the roof decking back 2-3 on each side prior to installing the ridge ventIn other words - they figure you are never going to check to see if they did it rightCheck itMost codes require you install a fire rated material over the styrofoamThis is why I used drywall 5/8 - paneling will not have any fire ratingDo it right
If she was going to have a toxic reaction she already would haveOn occasion if your dog gets into something it shouldn't.it might be OK to watch her closely before taking her to the vetFirst, she might get over it, and if not you can report the symptoms to the vetYou would watch for such symptoms as diarrhea, vomiting, labored or shallow breathing, drooling or shiveringIf she is not displaying these symptoms she is probably okHOWEVER.if it is now going on day 3 0r 4 and your dog is still having diarrhea and vomiting.she needs to be seenFirst, she could be dehydrated , the aluminum could have blocked or scratched her intestinesShe probably will be OK, you'd be surprised at what they can eat and pass.but more than 2 days is too longPlease see the vet.hope she's OK, good luck.
