Question:

What do you think of this short piece?

Just then, hardly halfway from her cell, two men appeared from nowhere, both dressed in uniform white, their faces impassive against the yellow brightness. No fear but sudden rage dawned on Katia's face. It seemed not to shock but puzzle the men as she rushed headlong at them, hoisting the railings above her head, an enraged scream firing up her throat.Katia staggered as one of the men tried to hold her down. The railings slipped from her fingers. The crash and her resisting shrieks reverberated through the wide, gleaming hall where she was sprawled on the cold floor, kicking, struggling from the persistent hands that kept on seizing her wildly striking ones. What do you want from me? the look in her eyes seemed to be saying. She couldn't understand. She's done nothing wrong.

Answer:

A little bit pretentious... for that reason dont like it.
Hi, Nice creative writing! I have a few suggestions. It's a little tough to read because the action isn't described as clearly as possible. Since she is in a cell the uniformed men shouldn't be puzzled by her lunging at them. Wouldn't they expect that? Also the last line doesn't help us understand what has happened (and should be in the past tense). How can she hoist the railings? Aren't they attached to the wall? Just for kicks I have rewritten it by deleting some words and changing the punctuation. Halfway from her cell two men appeared from nowhere, both dressed in uniform white, their faces impassive against the yellow brightness. Rage dawned on Katia's face. She rushed headlong at them, hoisting the railings above her head, an enraged scream firing up her throat. Katia staggered as one of the men tried to hold her down. The railings slipped from her fingers. The crash and her shrieks reverberated through the wide, gleaming hall where she was sprawled on the cold floor, kicking, struggling from the persistent hands that seized her wildly striking ones. What do you want from me? the look in her eyes seemed to be saying. She's done nothing wrong.
