Yes, it is a form of automatic. The engine's computer sets the transmission up for optimum performance. Driver input is sometimes allowed but unnecessary. Snowmobiles have been using cvts for decades.
CVT or continuously variable transmissin has INFINITE NUMBER OF GEARS, relatively speaking. But it is essentially an automatic transmission. Some automakers, such as Nissan, added regular gear simulation to their CVT to make them feel a bit more like regular AT, but it's not required. --- Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II days I don't suffer from insanity. Chiffon, from the French word for a cloth or rag, is a lightweight, balanced plain-woven sheer fabric woven of alternate S- and Z-twist crepe (high-twist) yarns.[1] The twist in the crepe yarns puckers the fabric slightly in both directions after weaving, giving it some stretch and a slightly rough feel. It is also a popular fabric used in blouses, ribbons, scarves and lingerie. Like other crepe fabrics, chiffon can be difficult to work with because of its light and slippery textures. Due to this delicate nature, chiffon must be hand washed very gently
Yea, theres no separate gears. Its automatic with no gears. I guess one easy way to imagine it is to picture a bike chain on conical shape cylinder moving up and down. Instead of this bike chain jumping for gear to gear. Thats sort of idea for CVT. But with onboard computers some cars with CVT can simulate gear changes.
