I just bought an RC truck, and the manual says to charge it for at least 8 hours on the first two initial charges. It's been 6 hours on the first charge, and I really want to play with it. But I don't want to ruin the battery.
You won't ruin the battery. All that will happen is the battery will run out of power soon than it would have if it was a full charge.
greater moderen batteries can cope with short cycles of charging whether it rather is often solid to do an entire cycle ( permit it die and then totally value) a minimum of as quickly as each and every week. The battery isn't totally conditioned till you do an entire cycle. i could surely do a completely cycle for the 1st couple of costs and then a minimum of as quickly as each and every week after that.
Ruit it you wont. However. They suggest two longer chargers the first couple of times to settle the battery in. NiCDs suffer from memories. For example. If you charge a 2000 milliamp 7.2v sitck pack to 1500 milliamp each time, then eventually it will only charge to 1500. Stick with the manual. You'l get better performance and life from your kit.
