You can take a tube put a strong magnet at one end,( Other end or far end), now imagine some thing like this on massive scale but instead of magnetic force think of it as humongous gravitational and the Magnetic force produced by lots of concentrated distance Galaxy or huge grave yard of dead stars or some thing very humongous bigger the cluster more is the gravitational and the magnetic force. It is so great that even light is pulled in and absorb, hence the black hole. *********** PS Black objects absorbs, light and heat energy, white reflect it. Nar is Partially correct,She writeHowever, this would not have any practical use, as nothing could possibly extract you from the inside of a black hole and all of the atoms in your body would be stretched by gravity into a line of particles, falling towards an infinitely small point. My theory, (A Hypthesis) is that, that this so call point is very large or cluster or even Galaxies lined up one behind the other, but it is at such a distance that it looks as if it is an infinitely small point. Every thing is a point at a distance, from visualisation stand point, no matter how large, but only large thing can have such an humongous force to pull in things in their Gravitational and Magnetic field of influence. So we may Graphicaly represent it as a point but must understand that it has to be unimaginatly very, very, extremly extremly large or in mathematical terms Infinite, or may be almost infinite or infinite for all the practical purposes.
