Assuming that the pan is electrically neutral, then, when you bring it near to the electroscope, nothing will changeHowever, if you TOUCH the pan to the electroscope, then the excess charge on the leaves will discharge to the pan, and the leaves will move closer together.
probally not if you are doing hightlights cuz the dye would get on the other parts on your hair, but you can fold or rap the strands up in household foil or beauty salon foil so you dont have to use the cap.!
