Question:

What if a criminal went on a rampage with..?

What would the police do if a criminal went on a rampage with a 50 ton armored bulldozer? How would they ever apprehend this individual? It's not like they could wait for him to run out of fuel, if he's destroying vehicles, and property, and risking the lives of innocent people in his path. What would/could be done?

Answer:

lol! if it was armored where they couldnt shoot the driver it could crush the police station like a card tower! When that guy went on a rampage with a tank the air force auctually had orders to destroy it if he fired any weapons! He would have lasted longer if he had locked/welded the hatch.
This has actually happened. A deranged National Guardsman went on a rampage with a M60 tank in California. There was nothing that the cops could do. They just followed him until he hung up the tank on a concrete freeway divider. They then swarmed the tank and forced open the commanders hatch.
Happened in Granby, CO a couple of years back. Marvin Heemeyer charged around town smashing into buildings, also had a gun mounted. Officers stood on top of the dozerand poured rounds into the vents without affect. The bulldozer eventually got stuck and dude shoots himself. Military scrambled attack helos to help but arrived too late.
There wouldn't be much the officers could do at the point in time. As the above posters have said, this event actually has occurred, a reinforced bulldozer went on a rampage with some maniac inside. Officers were forced to wait it out and when it came to a complete stop the suspect had killed himself with a shotgun. Not sure what sort of punishment he would've received, but I'm sure he took the easy way out.
Nothing could be done except to wait for them to run out of gas. Besides, it's easy... Take a brick of C4, stick it to one of the track wheels, and blow the track.
