what happened to the original alarm.get it checked with qualified auto wireman. Mine E28-520i is 24 years and going strong.

If he hasn't mentioned it I'm certain he means his car does not have the factory alarm. Your best selection is to purchase an OEM BMW alarm. Your BMW is prewired for this system. This means it will utilize your motion sensor (red bulb under the rear view sometimes called clown nose) and won't require jimmy rigging like many do. Additionally once activated by the dealer the system will work with your existing BMW key FOB.
