What is a Lightweight and durable material i can use to make moving appendages?
How can you have designed the robotics if you have no idea what the arms are going to weigh? The lightest material that I can think is easily available is the thin wall PVC tubing/pipe called Sched 10 at home centersThe wall thickness is about 1/16 The next lightest, stronger, but more expensive would be aluminum tubing, in 1/32 wall if available, otherwise 1/16 Both of these tubings will require machining/casting/carving solid snug fitting elements to support the joints inside the tubing and those joints will have to have fittings to work with your robotic controlsIf it isn't obvious, don't plan on cutting all the parts for 6 arms and then proceeding - make 1 as a prototype and solve the problems with it.
you need about a trillion volts.thats how its done on subs.
